With the release of AnySIM v1.1.1 unlocker, I think it will be useful to (once again) describe in simple steps how YOU could also unlock your own iPhones.
Before we start, let me make this clear. If you have a previously unlocked iPhone and want to use v1.1.1, you need to have the baseband revirginized (see my other guide) and then update/unlock it.
This guide is not for you.
The goal of this guide is to downgrade a virgin v1.1.1 iPhone to v1.0.2 (in order to use iBrickr) and unlock it so as to be able to connect to any telco.
With that out of the way, let’s get down to business shall we?
Step 1. Download the tools that you are going to need for the unlock. For your benefit, I have mirrored them here on my site.
iBrickr v0.91
PACAY.rar
wiNstaller
Step 2. Start iTunes on your computer. Turn on your iPhone and place it on its dock. Start iBrickr. You will get a message from iBrickr saying that you’re running iPhone firmware 1.1.1.

Click on “See how deep the rabbit hole goes". The iBrickr screen will ask you whether to download the 1.0.2 firmware. Click continue.

And you will see this …

At which point the iPhone screen will turn white.
In iTunes, press the shift key and click on Restore, then select the file that iBrickr had just downloaded (1.02.ipsw). Allow iTunes to complete the downgrade (this takes about 3-4 minutes). You may get a error 1013, but just ignore it and go back to iBrickr.

Now select “iTunes said the restore failed, and I have a yellow triangle on my iPhone” option on the iBrickr screen and you will see this.

Click “Fix It".

Wait for the iPhone to reboot on its own. Close iBrickr.
Done? Great, proceed to the next step.
Step 3. Make sure iTunes is still running and double click on wInstallerGUI.exe that you just downloaded. Click on “Activate” and let the tool do its magic.

Your iPhone is now activated + jailbroken - you’re doing great! But wait a minute, we need to overwrite the lockdownd file in the phone. Double click the batch file in PACAY.rar and let the program run. Once this is done, you will have a fully activated phone.
Step 4. Now reboot your iPhone and you will have bypassed the Activation warning screen. If you have not, go back to Step 3 and redo the step. Ok, now we have to perform the baseband unlock.
On your iPhone, go to Settings->General->Auto-Lock and set to “Never". Install PXL and follow instructions on iBrickr and when you are done, you will see this:

Click on “Browse Applications” and you see this.

Select “anySIM v1.1″.
After AnySIM is installed, you’re set to the very last step of this unlock.
Step 5. You’re all set for the final step to unlock your iPhone! Slot in your SIM card into the iPhone, then tap on the AnySIM icon, follow the instructions and let the app do its job. Be patient and wait - it might take a while to flash the firmware.
If everything went well, you will now have an unlocked iPhone, connected to your mobile telco. Now go grab a beer and celebrate!
